Our Next Event

LVGA Director Abe Littenberg was presented the 2020 Distinguished Citizen of the Year award by Mayor Tony Perry and the Middletown Township Committee at the April 19th Township Committee meeting.  Abe was recognized for his philanthropic leadership and for being an ardent supporter of Middletown businesses, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As Chairman of the Middletown Economic Development Committee, Abe supported the Township's "Takeout Thursday" initiative by creataing a database of local restaurants to provide an easy way for community members to order meals from their favorite establishments during the lockdown period.  Abe also created a COVID-19 economic recovery plan to help fellow business owners navigate the pandemic, all while continuing to run his own Middletown-based businesses, Gutteplan's Frozen Dough and A Child's Place School, a school he owns with his wife Linda.  On behalf of Guttenplan's, a facility that produces frozen dough products, Abe also worked with Middletown Social Services and local food banks to donate bread to those in need.

His personal and passionate commitment to bettering the lives of those around him is admired and appreciated.  We are incredibly fortunate to call Abe one of Middletown's own.  Please join us in congratulating Abe for receiving his prestigious award as well as a Key to the Township!

Capital Campaign

We have  launched a Capital Campaign “For the Greener Good” to upgrade the landscape and lawn at the Lincroft Village Green.

Rehabilitating such a large area is not a walk in the park.  The LVGA launched the Capital Campaign, “For the Greener Good” with a goal of $20,000.  So far, we have raised just over $8000.   Any donation, great or small, is appreciated.    A big thank you to everyone who attended Kegs for a Cause.  We raised $1587.81!  We appreciate the support of our members, Luigi's for donating the pizzas, and ABC Bagel for donating the sandwich platter.

Since our efforts to make capital improvements began in 2017, we have spent $22,514.  We have installed a well, water softening system, sprinkler system, paid for general maintenance of the systems, rehabilitated the lawn in the center circle, hired tree services, and planted new shrubs.  Starting spring 2019, we will expand the sprinkler system, plant more trees, shrubs and annuals, clean up the trail in the woods, and if we have enough support, make improvements to the bocce court.

Although the Lincroft Village Green is a public park owned by the Middletown Township, the LVGA has been the steward of its enhancement and use.  The Lincroft Green is an integral part of what the LVGA as a civic organization stands for: working together to save open space, improving quality of life for residents, and providing a safe and beautiful place for all to gather.   Your donation, great or small, will help us toward our $20,000 goal.
